About Monaco
Sara and John say...
It may not surprise you that this unique haven for the rich and famous manages to have weather all of its own too!
Tucked away in shelter from the worst of the elements, this is a warm and sunny microclimate for much of the year. The mountains to the north and west of the principality often block out cloud and rain, allowing blue skies to prevail, especially in summer.
Showers do crop up around the year, but they are often quite short and sharp - so it’s not long before the sun is out again.
And thanks to the moderating effect of the Mediterranean, winters never get that cold, while blistering summer heat is more likely to be found inland than on the coast. In fact, it’s an all-year destination.
You may need to bring a well-stocked purse, but the sunscreen and shades are probably more essential to pack than a waterproof!
